About
We are a progressive startup organization with a focus on aiding small and regional civil rights groups maximize the use of techology in their fundraising, volunteer management, and rapid response efforts. It is our belief that technology, and especially the Internet medium, are vastly underutilized by small organizations due to scarce financial and human resources. Many such organizations are either unaware of the potential or believe they cannot afford to leverage it. EqualityAction.org was founded to bridge this "digital divide" between the "big guys" and the smaller organizations by two methods:
Traditional consultation services. Our organization itself offers limited consultation and technology services. We will be happy to answer any questions about what technologies and are most appropriate for your needs as a small organization. As a technical group that happens to also share the same vision for civil rights, we are both motivated and able to help you find solutions to increase the effectiveness of your organization's efforts. For example, we have researched and tested several solutions for accepting payments online, and can offer advice about the suitability of each specifically for your organization.
Technical volunteer recruitment and matching services. A familiar resource that is the lifeblood of any non-profit or politically minded organization is the volunteer. Small organizations are especially aware of the difficulty in procuring reliable volunteer workers of any stripe, much less ones that have the technical expertise and experience necessary to fulfill your Internet outreach efforts. EqualityAction.org recruits high-tech volunteers with the skills necessary to empower small organizations to use technology and the Internet to reach new potential donors and volunteers and communicate effectively with all your members.
